Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information MachineSetu ("we", "us") collects when you use machinesetu.com (the "Platform"), why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We built MachineSetu to run on as little personal data as possible — here's exactly what we hold and why.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly:

• Name, phone number, and email address when you create an account
• City and state, if you provide them
• Listing details when you post a machine — category, make, model, year, price, description, location, and photos
• The contact name and phone number you choose to display on a listing

Information collected automatically:

• Search activity — the categories, locations, and listing types you search for, which we use in aggregate to understand demand (never tied to your identity in a way that's shown to other users)
• Basic technical information such as browser type, needed to keep the Platform working correctly

We do not collect payment information of any kind — MachineSetu never processes or holds payment, so we simply have no card, UPI, or bank details to collect.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and secure your account, including sending the one-time login code to your email
• To show your listing to other users, and to let interested buyers or renters contact you using the details you chose to display
• To let you save/shortlist listings you're interested in
• To understand overall demand across categories and locations, so we can improve the Platform
• To respond to support requests or complaints

3. What We Share, and With Whom

The contact name and phone number on a listing are visible to other users by design — that's how buyers and sellers connect. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required to by law, or to investigate fraud or a violation of our Terms of Use.

4. How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud database provider, with access controls restricting who can view it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

5. Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request that we delete your account and associated personal data
• Raise a grievance about how your data is handled

To exercise any of these, email us at support@machinesetu.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time, generally within 15 days.

6. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your account and listing information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Children's Privacy

MachineSetu is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
